Tournament Chairman was Ian Bishop of the RA Club. Bev. Aitken umpired. Approximately 10 Belleville people participated in organizing and running the tournament and canteen. Use of the gym’s PA system and a flip chart helped get players on court more effectively than in previous years, along with some court monitoring by U of T players. Black Knight was represented by the String Doctor, Glen Crowley, who had his sales and repair stations in support of the tourney. The Harbour Club supplied the polycarbonate safety glasses that were loaned to Juniors. Black Knight provided a mix of draw prizes, with 7 sets of prizes given out (racquet, T shirts, safety goggles, caps and sweat bands). The prizes were won by Sylvesta Ing (R.A.), Terry Day (Limestone), Ian Wu (Mandarin), Chester Weatherby (Queens), Cheryl Tanaka (Mandarin), Andrew Balfour (Seneca) and Scott Deveau (Phoenix Jr.). |
