Kingston Online Services has purchased the assets of Lakeshore Internet and will be supporting all Lakeshore customers effective immediately. Please visit our web page for technical support numbers and contact e-mail addresses so that we can service you efficiently. Kingston Online (KOS) would like to extend Lakeshore customers a level of support and technical capability not available previously, including spam and virus protection on all e-mail addresses, high-speed connectivity by DSL and broadband Wireless services, accelerated dial-up, and other features available only to KOS customers.
To get "old" standard e-mail previous to July 20, 2007, you should log into the previous Lakeshore Web E-mail System and to receive new mail in your standard mail client, make sure you use these settings:
Outgoing E-mail (SMTP): relay1.kos.net or smtp.lks.net
Incoming E-mail: post.kos.net or mail.lks.net
Administration: https://post.kos.net/
Please also note that you must use your full e-mail address to access your e-mail on the new system. Enter the full userid@lks.net address when you connect to either webmail or using a full mail client (we recommend Mozilla Thunderbird). While this change may be momentarily frustrating, the addition of excellent spam and virus protection as well as self-administration should offset any inconvenience.
Promail Users: As of July 20, Promail users have been moved to our "VIP Mail" service, which offers 500MB of storage per mailbox and mail attachments up to 32MB in size. This is a significantly higher class of service than the previous Promail offered, and also includes spam, virus protection and self-maintenance.
The former Promail webmail system will have "old" mail as with the LKS mail system, but for new mail, you should reconfigure your mail client like so:
Incoming or Outgoing E-mail: vip.kos.net
Configuration & Webmail Interface: https://vip.kos.net
As with the standard mail settings, Promail users should use the full e-mail address in the format userid@promail.lks.net. You will need to make this change to pick up any mail after July 20, 2007.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions, concerns, or technical problems. Also, while our movement of the e-mail systems went quite smoothly, we do wish to hear from any customer who would like to have their domain hosting package upgraded, as our system supports full mail virtualization including self-support for domains.
