Individual Counselling:  For female and male victims/survivors of recent or historical sexual violence.

Group Counselling:  For female and male victims/survivors.  Participants do not have to be taking part in individual counselling in order to join these groups.  We have Women's, Young Women's (16-23), and Men's groups.

Group Readiness:  A five week session that covers building trust within a group setting, effective communication, boundaries, group safety guidelines and coping skills.

Phase One:  This group is approximately 16 to 18 weeks in duration and it is sectioned off into 4 parts.

Part One: The creation of safety within the group and allowing the building of trust among members.  Guidelines for safety, topics of general interest and building of support systems are some of the means by which this safety is created.  (2-3 weeks)

Part Two: Each woman tells her own story in a way that is most comfortable to her. (ie. Story-telling, poems, artwork..)  In doing so, the women have the opportunity to gain community/peer recognition and validation of their experiences as well as valuable feedback.  Info sessions with topics such as anger, conflict resolution, sexuality, intimacy and trust that are determined by prioritizing process of the majority.  (7-8 weeks)

Part Three: “Working through” best explains this section in that the group members are given the opportunity to develop their goals, assessing negative core beliefs and feelings that may be blocking their self-actualization.  Group interaction enables members to establish healthy boundaries and behaviors.  (4-5 weeks)

Part Four: Focus is on integration of info and changing mal-adaptive behaviors as well as closure of the group process.  A celebration of the end of the group and new beginnings for each member.  (2-3 weeks)

Phase Two:This aspect of group process is experiential-educational in nature, providing survivors of sexual violence with tools for adapting to healthier models of living.  The topics we focus on are:
                        - effective communication
                        - healthy sexuality
                        - connecting with our feelings
                        - spirituality
                        - assertiveness training
                        - intimacy in relationships

The program is 8 weeks in length, with approximately 8-10 members.  The criteria for selection is the same as for Phase One, as well as the completion of an introductory group process, with the understanding of power and control dynamics and their impact on society, primarily violence against women and children.

Phase Three:  This is a therapeutic model to enhance the experience of Phase One and Two as well as implementing the tools learned, into real-life situations, through the modalities of gestalt therapy, life-line therapy, energy psychology, role-playing and belief repatterning.

Support Groups: For Parents, Partners and supporters of victims/survivors.  These groups would be for information sharing as well as for support and connecting with others in a safe, confidential setting.  These groups are held on an as needed basis.  The duration of this group depends on the number of participants and amount of time on issues.
